The Agribusiness Development (AD) Division of the NAMC was established to strategically collaborate with industries and other public and private institutions in designing programmes aimed at increasing market access, encouraging new business development and capacity building of historically disadvantaged agribusinesses.

The AD division is facilitating the following programmes:

  • Development schemes

The main purpose of the development schemes is to uplift the black producers in the agricultural sector and to encourage their integration into the commercial mainstream.  The development schemes provide incentives to the market to increase the quality of production from the emerging sector and increase procurement from these producers.

  • Marketing Innovation

The AD division develops and implements market innovation programmes in collaboration with industries. The objective is to increase the market access of the emerging producers through the design and implementation of innovative marketing programmes.

  • Promotions

The AD division through its promotions programme supports the new agribusinesses in their endeavours to export their products..

  • Training

The AD division through this programme assists with the facilitation of structured training workshops that are tailor made for the new agribusinesses. The objective of this programme is to capacitate the new agribusinesses through marketing and managerial training.

  • Realignment of Industry Trusts with Empowerment

The AD division through this programme continuously engages industries on their activities related to transformation. The objective is to assist industry bodies that collect levies to integrate the transformation guidelines as developed by the NAMC into their daily operations.
