Deregulation Of Marketing Boards

Those commodities that were regulated by the time the Marketing of Agricultural Products Acts, 1996  came into operation, were as follows:

 

After the control boards had been disbanded, some structures were put in place to serve the agricultural industry. These structures include Trusts and Section 21 Companies.

The only remaining Board is the Maize Board.The Maize Marketing Scheme was extended to lapse on 31 July 2008 to enable the Maize Board to continue with legal processes regarding the collection of outstanding levies.
