Cotton SA May Newsletter, provides a market outlook on the cotton industry. Due to the ongoing Russia/Ukraine Conflict, the local industry would not be severely affected, as little trade exists between South Africa and Ukraine in respect of textiles and clothing. In terms of local cotton estimates, the outlook for the remaining hectares remained increasingly weather dependent.
24 June 2022 Precious Nengwekhulu presented on Machine Learning for Earth Observation (ML4EO) under the topic “Business Models, Insurance and Investments” Mphaila irrigation scheme case study. The presentation was aimed at learning about the model used at Ha-Mphaila Irrigation Scheme and the success stories.
On 01 July, the NAMC participated in the panel discussion Industry Standards and Regulations. The Indaba gathered all stakeholders from the KwaZulu Natal agricultural and food value chain. Ms Nonhlanhla Gwamanda presented on the various market access opportunities offered by government and industry.
